Fasting builds character and helps us understand that food is not everything, there is oxygen, life, love, friends. God bless fasting.

F'ASTING, n. The act of abstaining from food. Any compromise on the “abstaining” part makes it a diet. I do drink water, black coffee, and thee.

So how long do you fast for at a time? And then you can only have something little to eat after that?

Fasting can range from one day up to seven days (=my longest) and beyond: A person I know did a 21 day fast recently, with good results. It is not only good for fat loss, but also body maintenance.
There is science to it. See for example “Dr. Fung” on YouTube, or the book “Fasting can save your life” from Herbert M. Shelton.
And more important than temporal physical health is eternal spiritual health. For the latter, see www.tsabs.info. Because a lean body is of no use in hell. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

From my own experience I know that fasting does NOT cause muscle loss. It is that simple.
