Anyone need some rain? We've got lots to spare as we've been getting dumped on since before 9AM this morning. From the looks of the radar, I think we're going to be wet for most of the day.

DH always tells me the weather forecast as he leaves for work. Today, he warned me of the system that was heading our way and said that in just a couple hours, we'd probably be rained out.

So, I rousted myself and got the dogs out walking early....a mere 78 degrees and cloudy! Of course, the humidity was horrible. Anyway, it was decent enough that I took the dogs 1.6 miles. Then I went out for some more mileage over on the lake route. I had my earbuds in and was groovin' on the tunes, so I didn't hear the approaching thunder.

I guess I came out of my music-trance enough to realize, Gee, it's REALLY getting dark and, wow, the street lights have come on again. I disconnected the music and, sure enough, the thunder was getting louder and closer. I picked up the pace, as I had a good distance to go to get anywhere near my home. It began to look pretty bad, so I thought it best to begin to jog (oh no!). I didn't have much farther to go, so my jog wasn't more than a block or two. The rain began as I was cutting across my front yard to get to the front door. Made it!

My mileage for today was 3.5 miles, just a bit less than the 3.8 I thought I was going to do.

Tomorrow "really" begins Maintenance for me. Last Friday, at a church volunteer activity, one of the gals took a look at me and asked if I had been losing weight. I said yes....and waited. She said she thought so and HOW MUCH WEIGHT HAD I LOST? There were several shocked faces when I said 91 pounds. They wanted to know how long it had taken and how I did it, etc. Of course, I've been volunteering with this group from fairly early-on in my journey, so it's not surprising they wouldn't truly realize the magnitude of the loss...the changes are so subtle when you see someone regularly plus I had not told anyone there that I was on a weight loss journey. One of the gals there said I looked great and that I shouldn't lose any more weight! How cool is that? Of course I have a fair amount of belly fat and fat elsewhere that COULD come off, but I can't remember another time when someone said I looked fine and that I SHOULDN'T lose any more weight. That comment felt really, really good!
