misticms Oh, locals here 😃 Well... in my opinion - yes, better than Phil's in Moss Landing. Obviously, the choice is much, much, MUCH greater at Phil's. Here in this Castroville restaurant it drills down to either fried calamari, fried shrimps, grilled sand dabs or grilled salmon. They used to have grilled sword fish (delicious and rare!) but not today. So selection is very limited. But everything I tried so far was made to perfection. At Phil's, it feels more mass market, and after multiple visits there I still haven't found an entrée that I'd like to eat at least one more time.
Again, this is just my personal opinion. Lots of people love Phil's, and this is definitely a great seafood place to try, especially if one has never been there.
