Not sure if it's my dieting or what because I've lost less than 15 pounds so far but I've noticed less knee pain and the arthritis in my fingers has not bothered me for several weeks now. My jar of Blue Emu has sat unused for a month now. I was using it every day for joint pain in my fingers. Anyone know how dieting affects joint pain? I wonder what I'm currently eating or not eating now that's helping.

weight loss and change of diet can definitely be factors, great news that you are in less pain as a side benefit of your hard work

I agree every pound off is less weight on my old knees so that makes sense, but the pain disappearing from my hands and knuckles is what's amazing me, it's not like I walk on my hands, ha ha! I read that too much sugar can cause inflammation so it may be the reduction of sugar from my diet is making a difference too.

I started getting joint pain in my fingers recently (something new for me), which inspired me to get back on track with my low carb / no sugar WOE and I haven’t had any joint pain since.

Most likely, it's a combination of less stress due to weight loss; and reduced inflammation. What is your WOE?

I try to keep my carbs moderate, 50-80 per day, calories between 1000-1100. I eat lots of veggies, a little fruit, poultry, fish, tofu, no beef or pork (just don't like beef or pork) although a bowl of chili with a little ground beef is okay once a month or so cause the spices cover up the taste of the beef but I prefer it made with ground turkey. I don't drink juices ever, I'd rather eat the piece of fruit. I eat cheese but drink very little milk. I don't eat artificial fats, only whole fat dairy and real butter. The only sweetener I use is Stevia. No coffee! Never liked coffee. I drink hot or iced tea and lots of water, maybe one diet soda a week or less. I use a little cream in my hot tea. And yes, I save room in my calorie allowance for a little dark chocolate every few days. I just recently started adding a bit of tumeric to my foods. I love spicy foods and hot sauces and cinnamon. I use low carb flatbread a couple times a week and once a week I eat Irish steel cut oatmeal, or a fruit smooth with powder egg protein, because egg omelets with veggies get tiresome every morning otherwise. No rice, no bread, only a bite of my husband's potato because I can't be trusted with it on my plate, ha!
