Oh my God, vent away! What a horrible event to happen to you and your brother. I hope he makes a complete recovery and that your insurance covers everything with no problems. I think your scale is the least of everything right now! Hang in there.

Three years ago a wild fire burnt my daughter's home to the ground. Everyone escaped uninjured. I had no idea just how devastating the loss to fire is until I went through this experience with her. She was in the middle of a divorce and has two children. It really complicated the divorce piece and the kids were devastated - first their dad and now their home. My daughter is going through PTSD therapy as well. Trying to deal with the insurance company, trying to list all the belongings and deal with the emotions around those belongings was more than I ever expected. She got her full insurance settlement at the two and a half year mark. She purchased a home this past July. Be kind to yourself and deal with things one at a time and if you need a break from it, take it! I hope your brother has no complications to the surgery as that is whole other piece to recover from. He must be in terrible pain. 

Overwhelming to say the least. Best wishes for your brother and I hope you don’t let the insurance paperwork issues cause you to stress react. . 

I feel your pain, my family and I went through that 4 yrs ago. We lost everything and our fur baby. We all got out but my husband and I were in the hospital but I was great full my kids were good and safe. It’s not going to be easy on your brother but as long as he knows your there for him it’s going to help. so sorry 

First, I'm praying for you & your family. Severe burns can be a long complicated healing process. Ask for a hospital social worker to help with any issues that may arise. You brother may be eligible for Social Security Disability due to his injuries & mental state. It cost nothing to apply & the hospital social worker may be able to assist with filing the claim with SSA. 2nd This is going to be a taxing process for you so know we are here to encourage you and help you through this. Maybe the hotel has a work out facility 

Oh dear! Healing energy to your brother, and prayers for both of you! Tena's suggestion about the hospital social worker is excellent, and since it is such a process, I hope you can do it as soon as possible... though I am sure that you are feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. Please keep us up to date on both of y'all's progress!

It's way better to vent than to explode. So sorry to hear your sad news. Will be praying for both you and your brother. You can both get through this! 

I think I have food struggles, things happen and I binge eat or make and excuse like “I deserve it, I had a hard day”. But here you are going through a lot and still doing great mentally and with your weight. Keep up the positive attitude! I’m in awe of you!
