ok I have just used FS to calculate my daily calorie intake taking into account my activity level and age etc. it says 2100kcal😮. could this be true??? so many calories??? I have been having at most 1500. should I now increase to 2100?

I’ve heard a few people say FS has a very high caloric allowance. What I did was to use various calorie calculators online and see what most of them say, then round down to the nearest hundred.

That's an idea, thank you. I'll do that rather. Really not comfortable eating that much.

My resting calories burned a day is around 1700 a day, I subtract 500 from that so that I will be in a deficit and go with that...

i do the same as Annelize...mine was also 1700 but i eat way less than that

FS calculations are accurate. It just depends on what you’re trying to achieve. Mine for example says that I should be at 1900 calories a day, it sounds high but a generally well balanced meal plan should bring you to about 2200 calories a day. If afcoz you’re trying to lose weight you always start in a calorie deficit, so when I started I was on 1300 calories a day, we have now gradually brought up my calorie intake to 1800 calories a day bcoz I’m over the fat loss phase of my plan and on to the muscle work... eventually I will be taken up to a calorie intake of 2200 a day. You have to do it gradually though otherwise you will definitely pick up weight.

Mine also said that but I try to stick to a 1000 calories at most 1200 if you want to loose

thank you All.I'm trying to loose weight. need to burn fat. my fat % is way too high. I've calc on other sites and they give same amount of kcal for maintenance. so I guess I'll reduce by 500 to get to weight loss kcal. the workouts will also help with caloric deficit too maybe. so I've reprogrammed my app to 1500kcal per day.

Hi .... ive used calorie calculator (calculator.net) on google and ive stuck to what that says and ive lost every week! This app says I can have 1500 calories a day whereas that calculator says in order for me to lose .500 to 1kg a week I need to have between 670 to 1130 calories per day! And its working! Ive lost 6.5kgs in 7 weeks!

Ha ha - tried calculator.net and it states that I need to eat 382 calories a day to lose 1kg a week !! 🤣 (I am very short and petite - but that is insane!) 882/ day to lose 0.5kg a week - now that’s more doable :)

@Jodi Goldberg, shew, that is very very hectic! Are you sure you put in the correct information as that sounds impossible for one person to do! Im very short and do no exercise what so ever and the lowest for me to lose 1 kg a week is 670 calories a day!

@Gaylene.T Triple sure !! I only weigh 46kg but this is the LOWEST calorie counter calculator I have encountered- and I’ve tried loads Guess I don’t have much to lose according to the stats - but you always want to lose :)

@Jodi Goldberg.... My word, you are tiny! Im sure its because you cant lose more weight and anything higher will make you pick up weight .... perhaps and not intending to be rude it’s because you need to gain weight 🙈! It’s working wonders for me and almost to the “t” as per suggestion!
