Diario de texasdeb, 22 may. 10

Well, I totally, totally blew it yesterday. More carbs than I have had in almost two months. Situation is: Worked until 5:00, then left to go to great-niece's high school graduation. She is a very special child to me because of the issues surrounding her birth and emotional struggles she's survived through the years. It's a two hour drive so I had to really boogie to get there by starting time at 7:00. Then just as I was getting to the place of graduation, they had a MAJOR highway shut down in all four directions. Two 18 wheelers hit head on and 4 cars crashed into that. Said prayers for those involved as hazmat crews were there, too. I had to try to find the school from there. My sister and family have lived in this town for over 25 years and I saw parts of town I didn't know existed. Just followed other cars and finally found a way around it. Was SOOO frustrated but got there just as the valedictorian speech was concluded. Saw her walk across the stage, cried and rejoiced.
Then afterwards (they had dinner before which I missed) they invited everybody over to the house for dewberry cobbler--berries picked by this marvelous great-niece and her 9 year old brother, 6 and 4 year old sisters and mother especially for this event. I mean how could I refuse to eat their special offering? They were all so proud to be able to do something for the celebration. It was wonderful and worth whatever price I have to pay because every "geez, this is great" comment just made them all smile so big and make them so proud. Got on scales this am and was DOWN a pound!!! Will probably be on a stall for a few days but, for me, price was sooo worth it. A day to remember for sure.

Awww, it sounds like you had a great time!! Just be good for the rest of the month to make up for your special day :-) That's my plan.
