yesterday a woman stopped me and asked what I was doing to lose weight...I said "a lot. I gave up all drinking, I work out every week day at 5am, I meal prep and track everything I eat, plus I walk on my two 15 minute breaks and 30 minute lunch every day" and she straight looked me in my face doubtingly and said "you had surgery huh?" I was like....omg lol smh

surgery isn't necessary. I don't get y ppl have it. It's just about making healthy choices and sticking to it and not giving up.

Some people can't imagine anyone can have long term dedication to a goal. When I had breast cancer I made it a goal to walk outside every single day even if only for 5 minutes. So the clinic calls to check on me before the next chemo (protocol) and the nurse asks me about exercise. I tell her I walk everyday. There was a pause. Then she said scathingly, Nobody wallks everyday! I said, Well, I do. and dropped it. I wasn't going to convince her of anything different!

I’m an example of early gastric surgery failure. In 1994 at age 18 I had gastric lap band without any therapy or counseling. I lost weight rapidly but could not eat anything that provided me with any nutritional value. Fast forward to 2014 when I nearly died of malnutrition before I had surgery reversed. Almost 5 years post reversal I’m still learning why I eat the way I do. So no, surgery is many times not a long term successful solution unless one understands nutrition, triggers, exercise etc. You’re doing it the right way. It’s for life. Your change is for life!!! You should be proud. You’re killing it!!!
