Today I decided to go keto carnivore instead of keto vegetarian. I found that eating keto would be better and easier for me personally if I ate that way. The keto flu seems to not hit me until night. Last night I was sore and in pain and I couldn't sleep, but when I woke up I felt rejuvenated and full of energy. Now that I'm inching toward the end of the day, I'm getting tired and weak again. Maybe the workout I did was too intense.

Now I have a question and I feel kinda stupid about it but I don't know exactly what a calorie defict is. I think I have a vauge idea but can anyone explain it? I can't find an answer on the internet 😔

You are detoxing so that's a great sign! 2 weeks will do it. I am eating lots of free range eggs, grass fed beef, fancy tuna salad, cheese, ZERO bread. Sugar free jello with whipped cream.Best part is cravings leave and It can be fairly painless.

For the jello and whipped cream, how many calories is that? And I hope so! I want to be able to exercise again but I guess I'll have to stick to stretching instead of intense workout

Are you getting enough salt, taking some magnesium and drinking plenty of water? Those help. You can eat some veggies. I love veggies. I often eat my protein with two or three sides of veggies. Do what works for you. keto flu will be over soon

Yeah I had veggie and shrimp stir fry earlier and I'm drinking 100 ml of water a day (almost) and I'm trying to get all of my macros. Sadly we don't have many options in the house and shopping isn't an option at the moment. I've been adding sodium but I need more magnesium and potassium. Do you have a suggestion for those?

Search in your food log but I think 1/2 c sf jello is 10 calories, 1 gr protein. Whipped cream was 15 calories for 2 TBSP, I think.

I just get some supplement for magnesium. It seems to do the trick. For potassium supplements are not worth it. Substitute salt will have potassium (like salt light). Just have to be careful with it as too much potassium is dangerous. Hope you are doing good today.

I also have magnesium supplements. If you are still feeling poorly start taking a multivitamin and make sure you are drinking plenty of water. The Keto Flu is a sign your electrolytes are out of balance. You may find (ttps://perfectketo.com/keto-electrolytes) this link may help understand what is going on. Calories are not something I am really looking at when I choose what to eat. I do keep them in mind but, I am trying to get my macronutrients in the correct percentages. 78% Fat; 17% Protein and 5% Carbs; and stay within my caloric ceiling. Your calorie deficit is when you burn more than you eat. So if you are burning 2000 calories a day and you are eating 1600 calories a day you are at a 400 calorie deficit. So, if you have to have a 3500 calorie deficit to loose one pound at this rate it should take you (according to the numbers) 8.75 day to loose 1 pound. That is really a healthy rate for permanent weight loss. I sure hope this has been useful.

Thank you so much @anytimenow! That was helpful! I'm feeling so much better today and I slept like a baby last night so I think it's not gonna hit me much harder than it has. And thank you for answering my question!
