I think the crystal light is a little bit different it's not like splenda or other packets of sugar substitute that you would add to coffee or tea. As for as the asparatame it effects people differently some people can have it and it has no effect on them and others it stops the loss dead in its tracks. Diet Rite has all types of flavors with no asparatame it uses splenda if you stick with diet sodas that use that you should be ok. Hope this helps 

I wasn't game to try so stuck to water - don't feel I am missing out though when I see the scales!
