hey all! looking for recommendations on the best food scales...certain things are so hard to guess on and I think that may be part of the problem...like trying to eye ball an ounce of hard cheese. LOL I don't wanna seem like I'm turning into a calorie Nazi but maybe I need the extra discipline. I dunno??? do you guys weigh out all the food?

I found weighing really helped me! Hubby got ours off of Amazon and said it was $15-20, but that was a couple years ago.

The one I got was $19 and came with a nice stainless steel bowl that I can use in other areas of the kitchen. Look on Amazon for "Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale Multifunction Food Scale with Removable Bowl 2.15L Liquid Volume Room Temperature and Timer, 11lb 5kg, Backlight LCD Display"

I got a cheap $5 one at Walmart. I just use it to weigh meats and works fine. I guess it depends on how much you think you’ll use it.

I have heard the weight watchers ones are not great but I have no first hand experience. I have an old letter weight (analog) that I bought at a garage sale years ago. I just love it. If I was buying a new one I would consider its shape since my counters get overfilled and it has to have one of those tare buttons. delete 04 Feb 19 by member:

I raided my husbands jewelry bench and stole (well, technically, it's mine too) his gold scale. It is very accurate. And he only complained a LITTLE when I returned it with cheese on it....

The weighing has made ALL the difference! I swear! I think mine cost $15 but I've seen them cheaper...if that helps...

$30 scale from Walmart what I use. Fl oz, grams, lbs / oz etc all you could ask for. Great to check but I found myself estimating much closer after couple of weeks! I recommend going through the process of getting a scale. Will help enormously when at restaurants etc!

I just research a bunch, but the food scale sounds like a good idea. I'm more calorie oriented myself.

I got mine at Walmart, 15-16 $ , it's pretty good, I was complaining about it before but the problem was the battery, I bought new batteries and now I have no problems with my food scale.
