Calories versus sodium. Even though I don;t suffer any of the effects of high sodium (except edema in hot temperatures) I find that when I attempt to watch my sodium intake versus caloric intake I cannot do both without a serious shortfall of calories. The saying is that water and potassium intake offsets this somewhat but I wonder if anyone else has this issue? 1500-2400 mg of sodium is not much at all, especially when you are eating store bought bread along with other processed foods! I was in shock and awe seing the sodium content of a can of turkey chili!
