It's stuff like this that's always turned me off about processed foods more than the sugars.

It's the funky oils and how they're processed and how they mutate human body cells.

Our bodies see these mutated fats and think they're regular fats, so it's like building muscle or storing them as "normal"... virtually creating a body that is a house of cards...

I'm not all about fear mongering, but this has always been in the back of my mind.

@ Courtney - when I first came across it in 2013 I was like 'no freaking way this could be good for me' but there was so much evidence to support it was that I tried it. I can't point to it singularly being responsible for lowering my cholesterol as I'd been making better food choices but my cholesterol did not increase. There were some 'miracles' touted like 'oil pulling' and I was on the fence with the true efficacy of that ~ seemed like a decent mouthwash would achieve the same. It's likely the 'egg yolk' debate thing now - good for cholesterol / bad for it. Less filling, tastes great. America.

If you eat eggs, you shouldn't track in your DV for cholesteral. It will put you over if you look at on the day-to-day basis. Egg cholesteral is better tracked weekly. Egg yolks aren't bad if no more than 2-3 times per week. Moderation. Mix full egg with egg whites only.

because you assume one is healthier doesn't make it so. not all saturated fats are the same. but use it or don't use. I really couldn't care less.
