Time to get rid of some fat this week - starting with dialing it back from my diet. Dropping the calories by 500 a day in an effort to lose a pound this week; if only someone would remind me...

Also, kicking the intensity up at the gym to avoid needing breast reduction surgery in January.

It's all fun and games until my wife's comments border sexual harassment/cat-calling. I feel violated.

Hyper palatable foods are good to avoid for anyone having issues over eating. But given equal calories they are not inherently more fattening. That would mean they are superior foods.

I have full confidence in the metabolic ward studies and in Taubes' Nusi study that backfired on him which I just linked on my journal. There is nothing to discuss if she believes carbs are inherently more fattening. Agree to disagree, I guess I have Asian genes(another odd belief). :P People like to pretend things get heated, I guess for their own amusement. Beats me.

Gosh, I am not pretending anything and not saying this or that, shit stirring, just stating what works on my little body. My own experience. Am i allowed? I eat more carbs now, by the way, hey. I eat what I like, actually. Period. Can’t say shit here without getting an excel chart/study/podcast into your face, sigh 😔 enjoy your journey, everyone.

Are you really doing 3 warm up sets for your bench? Or just 3 reps for warm up? If I did 3 sets for a warm up- well... I don't know how to finish this sentence... because that's a lot of warming up- No?

My WOE is supported by Shirfleur and Diablos's comments. I focus on calories and protein. I (unlike most people) have trouble getting 40-60 protein grams so everyday it's a strategy of 5 grams here and 6 grams there to get to the number, while keeping calories acceptable. But I like the idea of a spoonful of sugar for energy! Or maybe a donut (thanks Bella for the suggestion even though you say donut hole, I just read "donut") or a Twinkie.

Fritzy- I have to supplement with protein powder- or I'd have great difficulty getting the amount of protein I need... and I'm quite sure I would never be able to live without a donut or twinkie. It is not s sustainable woe for me and I binge and feel bad. With this WOE- I can eat it in moderation and do it FOREVER and EVER!

Fritzy, I use premier protein shakes. 30g protein for 160 kcal. The Carmel is awesome. It helps me make my 90-120g protein goal. At Walmart they run $7.47 for a 4 pack and you can get them on Amazon for the same (I just bought one 4pk at that price and a 12 pk for about $22 on Amazon. Will be here tomorrow and no getting out to shop lol). Protein bars can help too but tend to be higher kcal with lower protein than my shakes.

DP - I thought we had the same WOE - having a daily calorie maximum and ideally eating whatever we want by practicing portion control. That's my ultimate goal anyway, but I'm having trouble with the portion control when I eat something like cookies or chips.

I really like this conversation! It's stayed positive. Peeperjj - some things my doctor tells me stick. Some don't. He wants me to reduce and hopefully eliminate processed foods. I'm trying and I specifically asked him about protein powders and other products and he just said they are processed foods. I have a couple boxes of shakes I had ordered online (Wonderslim products) and I will eventually use them up. So for now, I try to get the protein without using protein shakes, etc.

I think we do have the same WOE, Fritzy- but I lift a lot and I need protein to get my muscles like I want them- but otherwise... yeah- pretty similar. I have issues with portion control, too with cookies and chips sometimes. And it sucks because I can fit it in my calories but then I'm thinking- wow- Did I really want to spend 400-600 calories on halloween candy and chips? At the time- yes I did. :) But I still keep it under control (for the most part0. Today I really feel like eating. It's not even 9 a.m. and I'm thinking maybe Chinese for dinner. That's never a good sign. Hahaha
