1st weighin: Ridiculously good results from following 2400 calorie diet. This makes no sense. I lost around 4+ pounds. It seems like it must be water or something, but I'm drinking plenty of water, as usual. I have reduced to 2400 calories and had no sense of deprivation. I was only over goal on 1 day, but still under body maintenance weight, so I still lost weight, meaning burned more calories than I ate, even that day. I think that is key, to have a goal that is under your maintenance amount of calories, so even if you fail to meet the goal, you can still lose, say, a couple hundred calories, and not have a big binge that causes a gain of 1500 calories. Dieting is easy so far. I assume it won't be this easy forever, but I'll ride it for now and like it. The plan is to simply keep sticking to the 2400 calorie goal and keep losing weight as long as it lasts. Maybe at some point I'd have to reduce calories again, but not for now. I can't tell that I've lost any weight on my belly and I still have the same number of chins as last week. My bride reminded me that this is a long term process, not a weekly makeover. She's pretty smart and has kept a consistent weight for basically her entire adult life. Portion control and walking. I have not added any exercise to my daily routine. Steps at work is the main, incidental, form of exercise.
