Diario de loosinisfun, 04 ago. 08

day 427...GOOOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!!!...66 out right now..but by 2pm they are sayin 105-110 ...so means i will be inside after noon today...and sittin under a fan even though the air will be on...ive been increasin my steps...even though the scales didnt show any loss yesterday...ive decided the scales arent that important anymore..sure its nice to see the numbers but i can tell the way my hands, fingers look when im loosing the weight they look thinner...i tried on the 42s again yesterday..they are so close...lol...hopin by this time next week, they will finally button...i have noticed...that im havin to fight for ever pound now...and i dont kno if quiting the gym and the cardio equipment up ther and just doing my walkin is good or not...i do think that mabye in jan i will join again...if not sooner..i miss going up ther, but i was just thinkin gettin away from there for a few months and doing just walks would strengthen my legs and lungs that much more so that when i do go back to the cardio machines, i should be able to do an hour or longer without alot of struggle...time will tell...well...need to get up an do several things before my first morning walk...hope everyone is doing greattttttt...keep it moving!!!!!

I weigh myself once every two weeks. The scale has been my downfall in the past. It can really mess with my head or I let it mess with my head. I like going by the way my clothes fit and they are starting to fit better. I noticed your recording aerobic steps how is that different from the "regular" steps?

i think aerobic steps are when you stay at a steady pace when your walking ...which brings your heart rate up faster and in turn burns more calories...

I know you're kind of going by your pants but, are you taking your measurements too? I'm sure a lot of fat is being converted to muscle and that's why you're not seeing it on the scale. There's no way you could work as hard as you do and not be getting results. Keep it up! I think the gym is good too because muscle building burns fat and the bigger your muscles are, the more fat they burn. Don't get all Arnold on us but, I think it's a good thing.

Hey Fun! The strategy you use as you try on those size 42 pants is an effective strategy. I use the same approach. Both your journal entry and its comments remind me not to "worship the scale." Weighing less often works best for me. What happens with me - if I weigh every day - is that I wake up feeling "thinner." I say to myself,"Gee! I've got to be down two pounds today!" I climb on the scale and it's up. Then my confidence sags and I think "Why bother!" I chant silly little rhymes when I walk through my neighborhood. These chants keep the rhythm and motivate me. Here is one of my rhymes to address the scale-watching syndrome. IT'S NOT A NUMBER TO CHECK OUT! IT'S HOW YOU FEEL - FROM THE INSIDE OUT!

when i was going to the gym..i use to get on the scales just as soon as i walked in the door..i usually got on it just to keep tabs as if i was up or down on the scales, from the days i might over indulge ...lol...so in a way gettin away from the gym and the scales is good for me...means i have to keep a closer eye on what my hand puts in my mouth...not being on any special diet, i pretty well eat whatever i want, long as i watch my portions, and whats in the food...i like the saying..il have to remember that...lol..

That AWARENESS of my own body is one of the VALUABLE lessons I am learning from this site, The secret - no pun intended - is to PAY ATTENTION! If the scale helps one give himself the positive attention he deserves - then super! Have a terrific day - Fun!

I agree with Kimbulie... keep up the hard work and cut back on the "rewards" or use sf jellow, or no sugar added fudge cycles or something that won't blow your hard work. :) Keep up the awesome work!

You are doing great! Maybe your scale is just stuck. :) Throw a tomato at it! Like you said, you have the option of re-joining the gym if you miss it, or need it.

You are doing awesome. Just give it time and the scale will begin working again. You are getting healthy and that's all that matters.

Great attitude about the scale. I have also started putting less importance in the scale. At the beginning if there was a gain or no loss, my day could have been ruined by that. The first plateau was a killer to my morale. But now I also feel a lot more mellow about the numbers. You're doing EVERYTHING right. Go Mike!
