NEW WEEK! NEW CHALLENGES!

Let me just get into it. For the past couple of weeks I have been waking up so depressed and just listless. Apart from my relationship being... I don't even know what to call it anymore... We don't fight & argue, we merely co-exist. Well apart from that... there is really NOTHING that should be making me so depressed.

So this morning I decided that I was going to add some exercise in the morning just before I do anything else and see if that does not help with a little more serotonin in my system. I AM SUPER UNFIT!!!! lol* I did 15 minutes on the Wii Dance Mat and burned a mere 50Cals. If I wasn't all dizzy and disorientated after 15 minutes I think I would have carried on. I will just keep to my 15min twice a day. LOVE THE DANCE MAT!!!

Then I got on the stationary bike and gave it my everything for 3min, but it didnt record anything on the little box thingy (because I didnt set it before I started). BLUHHHHH!!!!

Well for me 18 min of exercise is 18 minutes I haven't done in forever.
So good for me for actually making a point to DO SOMETHING!

Just a quick question to all the fitness gurus; do you eat before or after exercise? The LAST THING I want to do now is eat. I feel dizzy and disorientated AF.

Let's hope this helps for the depression.

I really have a problem to eat at least 1 200 cals a day. I am cutting back way to much. This is what I do every time and I KNOW its not good for your body at all. Strange to say that when you are trying to lose weight... "Lola you really need to eat all your calories; at least 1 200"

I set my menu out for today and yet again, I barely reach 1000! You think 1000 is okay?

If you are stuffed and can’t eat anymore. I wouldn’t worry too much about the amount of calories. I use to worry to and felt way to full to hit my calories. So now I just eat till I’m full and it usually adds up to 1000cals or a little less. Fats push up the calorie count a lot so maybe add a little olive oil or coconut oil or other healthy fats to your diet.

I worry about hitting my protein goal. I usually have a protein shake to help with that.

We are on the same page Pasco. I tried to push the protein & fats today. Have to say the omelette for lunch was way too much for me. I only had half of it and was full. Glad that 1000 cals will suffice.

You will have days that you are really hungry. What really matters is your average daily calories. If you aren’t hungry great. Eat till you are satiated. You can save the extra calories for a treat that has a little more calories like mangoes and double cream yoghurt on the weekend or you going to a dinner party etc. on the weekends I tend to eat way more than during the week but my average calories are about 1000cals. Weekends I can eat 1500cals and week days 600- 900cals. It all evens out.

@PASCO... I started exercising today. Is 2x 15min workouts just as effective as a full 30 minutes? I am SUPER unfit. I did 2x 15 min sessions today = 150cal. I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF RIGHT NOW. (Sweat dripping from my face... lol)

As long as you feel good after the exercise. That’s all that matters. Don’t push yourself too hard. You will increase your workouts naturally. If you try too hard you might just put more stress on yourself and you don’t want that, spiking your cortisol hormone will make you gain weight not lose. Your food intake is what matters when it comes to losing weight and fat. Exercise helps like 20%. Having 2separate 15min workouts will be the same as doing one 30min workout. It doesn’t make a difference 😊

Thank you for that info. Thank you for your encouraging words always. Exercising not just to lose some weight, but to distract myself from food, find a way to get rid of all my frustrations from work and help with my depression.

Sounds like pascoal has you in capable hands. To confirm and reiterate what she said - workout Fasted or fed (just work out!!). It is likely your depressed mood is stemming from your under-eating. Everybody has a different maintenance calorie level, and if you're conscious and in tune with your body (which your posts lead me to believe you are) you will be able to gauge from how you feel when and how much to eat.. What's important with exercise is progressive overload (do a little more over time), reap as much benefits from the 2x15min sessions before increasing it. Maybe next week or after 5 sessions bump it up to 2x20min, then 3x20min after two weeks etc..

Will definitely do that! Waiting for my pedometer to arrive as well. My school opens on Saturday, so I will be on my feet most of the day 5 days a week. I bought the double wheel thingy from Mr Price Sport as well and do arm exercises in the evening while watching series. (Secretly punching people while I do so) lol*

It surprises me how much significance people on this app place on daily step counts.. I mean, it's nice as a matter of interest but really doesn't tell you much else. Same as HR and calorie readers like iWatch or fitbit 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lol How do you feel about people posting their fasting hours @Shreddedbrah? 😂 i like to toot my own horn. It’s an achievement that not everyone can do. 😄😊 and maybe it will encourage others. Maybe that’s what people who post their step count for the day are doing too 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think do it 😎 something I had to get over was judgment for sharing my efforts and progress! We work damn hard for this and are 100% allowed to be proud.. F*ck the haters, if they don't like it they can keep scrolling 💁🏻‍♂️

That’s one thing I don’t care about, is what people think or judgement from others. They can think what they like. They don’t pay my bills at the end of the day. So their opinions mean 💩 but I like how you have no filter Shreddedbrah. You say exactly what’s on your mind. I’ve read a few of your comments on other people’s posts😂
