Yesterday I walked 4 miles straight in the heat and humidity. I weighed in this morning and lost 1 pound. Did I feel any better after that type of walk? Not really. You might say I forced myself. I didn't find that it was a stress or frustration reliever. Some people claim that walking a distance or running relieves stress and makes one's outlook better. Perhaps it does for some people, but I find myself under more stress and frustration afterwards. I will try again to do my good deed for today and take a walk, maybe not that far out there.

Yes, exercise can be a great stress reliever. Once you start to do it regularly, you may see the difference in how you feel. If you walk with some music/earphones, relax and breath and just learn to enjoy the moment, it becomes very addicting. Mentally, you realize that it's your time to do something good for your body. You lose fat and start feeling good about your body. Before you know it, you start feeling bad if you miss a day. Keep going! You are doing great!

What Suzi says is true! Also conditions do affect the mood as does the amount. Maybe start out with 1 or 2 miles and then build back up to four so you feel less miserable physically when you are done :) Especially int he heat and humidity :) Music is a good idea as well as picking a walking route with trees and other flora so you can focus on where you are and enjoy the moment.
