Diario de eyestripe, 02 sep. 08

I haven't had a chance all weekend to really write in my journal or record what I ate. I know, I know excuses, excuses, but I'm totally serious. I had a great weekend hanging out with friends and relaxing. I went to a tailgater on Saturday and there were tons of yummy foods, most of them not being very healthy. Luckily, a friend brought some chicken breast so I ate that, but the worst part was that there were tortillas and tortilla chips! I used some self-control, though, and stayed away from both of them. Fridays and Saturdays are my days off so I didn't have to go work out. Sunday I didn't get up in time to go to the gym so I walked my puppy around for half an hour just to get out and be active. I went hiking yesterday to keep active because the gym was closed. I weighed in over the weekend and saw that I had lost three pounds but I know that when one starts dieting and excercising, the numbers can fluctuate. I'd rather wait for tomorrow which will officially be one week and confirm that number to be true/false. I have to admit that I do still have cravings for sweet stuff and all this water I've been drinking has gotten a bit boring, but I've stayed away from the candy and soda and bought some Crystal Light to liven up my taste buds when I need a change of pace from water. Tonight will be a great night at the gym as I am going to a stength endurance training class and then go home to do my push-ups for the push-up challenge. It's crazy how one week of eating better and being more active will change not only your mind-set, your health but also your mood and state of mind. Everyone at the office seems to have a case of the Mondays (eveen though it's Tuesday) but I am in a great mood. For the first time in a long time, I got up this morning and wasn't tired. Today has been a great day!
