I just got back from an invigorating bike ride. I rode for 30 min around the perimeter of our neighborhood for 6 miles. I pushed hard and my quads are burning! It was a strong feeling to be out there pushing through it and to keep passing by neighbors out working in their yards. I can say it will be quite challenging when the triathlon actually comes b/c 6 or 7 miles that I did was hard- 13 will be twice that plus the swimming and running on top of it. That is a long way off though, so I will just keep challenging myself in the workouts now. Well, I actually feel like organizing, so I am heading down to the basement to see what kids clothes I can gather and what I can sell on ebay. Hubby has been out of town for the last 2 nights visiting his family in Colorado where we lived for a few years. Looking forward to him coming home. I always appreciate him more when we are apart for a bit.

You're doing a fabulous job with your triathalon training. Do you have a preset schedule for training or are you just winging it on your own? I'm just asking because I know there are tons of training schedules available on the net that people have painstakingly put together for just about every kind of event. Many of them even allow you to input how long you have to train and how intensely you wish to push yourself so the program is customized to your individual needs. Keep up the great effort!

I am following a training plan from beginner triathlete.com. I will start week 4 this week. I haven't been up all the way to where I am supposed to be though according to their plan- such as this week was supposed to be a 48 min. bike (I did 30 today) and a 24 min. run (I did 15). I am doing each of the days however. I know I will work it up to where I am supposed to be. Thanks for the encouragement guys!!
