Over-consumption aversion therapy: yesterday I was so tired of having my consumption sneak up & over my RDI that I decided on a radical approach. I just ate. I had a wonderful Italian hoagie with a gorgeous side salad with golden beets, cucumbers, & tomato with a drizzle of tomato balsamic vinaigrette. My partner & I each got a big cookie to take to the soccer match; mine was an amazing molasses ginger cookie with little chunks of crystallized ginger in it. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
At the game, I lusted after the fresh kettle corn they make there, so I bought a small bag & ate half of it. By then, my stomach had had enough, and refused any offers of anything more. It grumbled all night, and I had to get up & take antacids & anti-gas tablets.
Sooo, I think it worked. Any time I feel like eating with abandon, I'll pull up that feeling, that miserable painful stomach. The queasy misery that over-doing even healthy food can bring. Not the guilt, no that just adds fuel to the over-eat fire. No guilt about what I set out to do yesterday, just a lesson well learned.
I went to an awesome Zumba class this morning, danced like I was the sexiest woman alive, with boundless energy. I did my stretches, rolling, ate healthy leftovers for lunch. I WILL take care of me so I can be my most amazing self.
