Extended my walking to 3.6 miles today. There's heavy rain in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, so that may curtail my walking plans for early next week. I'll probably go out tomorrow - my normal day off - just for that reason.

Gorgeous day today; sunny skies, light breeze and still in the 50's when we went out (doggies were along for 2.3 miles). But the sun was really warm, so it was warming up quickly. Good thing, as I wore shorts.

I'm still stuck in the 186's. I realize why dietary adjustments are so difficult. We have to wait so long to see if something works and it's impossible to keep everything else, except that adjustment, the same. Wouldn't it be nice to know, within hours, if what we change is making a difference? I guess the slow changes are to our advantage for survival purposes, but they're frustrating when trying to lose weight.

When I was walking, I realized that the sides of my elbows can now slide across my ribs as my arms swing! I haven't checked this out in front of a mirror, but I might be closer to having my upper arms hang parallel to my body again. At higher weights, I was very much aware that my upper arms went outward from the side of my body due to the fat. A visual goal of mine was to have them hang straight down, in line with my body. I might be getting close...

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sandy, our weather here has taken the turn...it is cloudy and about 44 degrees, yesterday was 75 and sunny...yeah, quite a change, but I am loving it. I already was out helping my baby sis lok for her dogs (black lab and bassett hound) who managed the get out of the fence and make a break for it. We found them after they had been out for about 3 hours. The really scary thing, we live in the country and today is the first day of deer hunting (gun) season, so we were frantic. Luckily a hunter did see them and held his temper (there are some that would have shot them for messing up their hunt), and we managed to get them home, safe and sound. As for the arms, I know exactly what you are talking about!! I have the same goal. lol Hope that you have a great weekend.

Gosh, Stef, glad you found the dogs but hope you and your sister were wearing bright orange thrashing around out there!

Sandy we stayed on the roads and lanes, and actually it was a hunter that pointed us in the right direction...he said he had seen the black lab then a short white blur..lol...our home backs up to 600 acres of virgin timber and on the south side is another 1,000, and we know way better than to go into the woods at this time of the year! The sound of guns is an all day, every day occurance. Kind of unnerving, actually. We have had coon hunters get so close to our house that we could hear them whispering to each other, and have had to run them off!

Really need to get some purple ties to mark the perimeter. Of course, out dogs would tear them up if they got caught inside the fence.

Great job on the exercising Sandy. The temp here is also in the 50's. Perfect for being outside. Deer hunting started here in Vermont today also. I don't like hunting season, because of straying bullets. Years ago, I had a friend get shot and killed while watching a football game sitting in his living room. I hate hunting seasons.(personal opiion of course)lol Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe.:)

I have to agree that I am not a big fan of hunting season. My hubby was shot by a friend and blinded while out rabbit hunting when he was 16. So I am like you Laurie, not a big fan...of course I would never try to change anyone else's minds, and we have guns in the house, and my sons shoot skeet, but I just have a hard time understanding how anyone can shoot Bambi!! lol Of course, if I had to do it for food, I would, but since there is the local grocer, I will stick with that for now!
