I've stopped the pig-outs, but I can't seem to get down to the lower points that I want to stick to. For some reason I end up at the end of the day with way more than I wanted. I'm losing but slowly. I have to kick this thing into gear and start moving down. I'm frustrated with myself. At this rate it will take me ten years to lose this weight. Any suggestions?

We're in the same boat. I'm losing, too, but this week hasn't been stellar in the points column. I think what it boils down to is that we're eating the wrong foods.

Don't worry. Slow or fast you are losing weight and you are sticking to your diet. In the beginning we lose fast but then it slows down a bit. That's the moment I feel blue, too :-) But if you continue, you will lose weight faster. In the beginning the weight we lose is mostly water. You should be happy that's means you are burning fats. And burning fats takes longer than losing water:-) Exercise more, that really helps.
Keep up the good work:-)

Hi Debbra! I just looked at your food diary. Maybe if you used less points for breakfast & lunch, then you might not be having the "points runneth over" problem at the end of the day. :-) That is what I try to do. I usually try to keep breakfast AND lunch combined total under 10 points. But, that is just me. If you get hungry then a bowl of cold cereal high in fiber or a fiber bar is something to make you feel full for a while. I like the Fiber One bars with the chocolate chips. It kind of tastes like a candy bar. I think it is 2 or 3 points, but it helps with the hunger. I don't know if it is a typo, but it looks like a couple of days you had 7 & 8 points worth of CoolWhip. Maybe a different alternative to that would be a 3 Musketeers bar or York Peppermint for the sweet tooth. Just remember, the important thing is that you ARE losing so try to keep your chin up! You are obviously doing plenty of things right!

The Cool Whip! Aaahhh!!!! I bought a tub of the fat free kind, and I ate the entire thing. That's something I need to just not have in my house. But I do get the urge for something sweet. I think I'll go back to those 60 calorie puddings. But thank you. You've got a point about too many points early. I think I am just eating too much, plain and simple. I'm going to start cutting.

There are many things that I just can't have in my kitchen (For that same reason). I ate too much Cool Whip as a child and it made me SICK! I eat very little now. Same with cotton candy. LOL! Too bad I didn't eat too much chocolate! I would bet that most of my rear end is from my chocolate addiction! ;-)

Hi debbra. Here is a post from the excellent personal train in our office. Have a boo. It may be of use to you in terms of the exercise component of your weight loss journey (chloe24 is right, I believe, about the water / fat comment). For me... no Cool Whip, no chocolate, no treats of any kind come in the house. I don't kid myself anymore that "I'll just have a little." I just have NO will power. And if it does, I actually plan to eat the whole thing. If I plan, I don't feel guilty, and I can plan to burn it off or just move on to a new day, the next day.

Curvygirl when I eat something like a Cool Whip or etc I really can't stop myself so there is no "I'll have a little for me" either. That's why I don't order anything like this anymore:-)))))
Debbra these days when I want sweets I eat tangerines or oranges. Vitamin C and very low points.

Yeap. I'm definitely going to eliminate the extras. No more junk. I am going for fruit and whole grains and protein. I am hoping that will do it for me.

Yeap. I bookmarked it. I haven't had time to really look at it, though. But thank you!! I am going to try to go on my treadmill right now. Good job on the walk vs. snack scenario! Keep it up!

The water thing is a good idea. I drink a whole glass or bottle before breakfast, another glass during breakfast, another glass after breakfast, and a bottle during lunch. Basically the first half of my day at work is spent drinking water. Needless to say, I pee a lot.

Also, I tend to drink too many diet sodas. I love the taste of them, but they actually tend to make me thirsty. I'll feel thirsty and go for the soda instead of the water. I think I'm going to stop buying them and stick to water only.
