And if you weren't such a lazy ass, or... Too worn out from hours at the gym, you would do the right thing and whip fresh cream yourself. That is the very best and the only whipped topping this family has. 😁 My hubby can eat a whole bowl full if just that for desset. Then you have zero fructose! Hehe! 

If it was "kinda popular in high school but grew up to be a loser" whip, I might be on board. 

dream whip should be your next experiment. there's some cool science behind it as well.  

it's been years, but they capture the same oil that's in cool whip, make it into even smaller particles and put it into powder form. you then add milk (of whatever sort) and whip. I did a paper on it when I was made to do those types of things. fun fact: the powder also burns quite nicely. 

shoot, there is nothing dream whip specific on the general web other than a note in passing on the wiki page for cool whip which talks about it a little. but, if you want to go really deep on food nerdisms, there's a documentary about the shift from agricultural food at the beginning of the 1900's to more engineered food in the 1950s. that, I would track down if you want because it was interesting enough I want to watch again, but it doesn't cover either cool whip or dream whip.  

and down the obsessive rabbit hole I go. going to put the laptop away until after the workday because now I'm obsessing over this. I used books when I wrote my little paper, but the basic information should still be out there and this bothers me. walking away for a few hours so I can continue to pay the bills.
