Dark, gloomy, stormy day with lots of rain. Walked 3.3 miles yesterday but will not be walking outside today....maybe Stairmaster later. My thighs have been sore for a few days now, even with Sunday as a day off, so a day not working them might be in order.

I tried an alternative puttanesca sauce (whatever THAT is) on the spaghetti squash last night and it's every bit as good as the first brand I tried. This brand is about $2 cheaper and it's just 2 NC per half cup rather than the 4 NC for the other brand for the same serving size. Both have some added sugar, but either one is about half as much as Hunt's brands. All in all, I think it's a keeper!

I am such a fan of this Maple Grove Farms of Vermont's Sugar Free Reduced Calorie Pancake & Waffle Mix! It's good stuff, easy to prepare, a good source of true fiber and at least 1/4 of my daily protein - just in the mix itself! It seems like I'm getting a lot of food (which is good); it seems like a treat meal (which is good) and I get all the nutritional benefits (also good). Wish I could buy it in a bigger box!

Not a whole lot going on today. DH has a day off, so is working in the garage on his car and probably will be most of the day. I have a volunteer commitment this PM, so in the meantime will be getting laundry done and trying to begin the process of categorizing paperwork for 2010 into some semblance of order and getting set up for 2011.

I have to agree that the Maple Grove Farms of Vermont mix is awesome. Sounds like you are trying to get all your paperwork together for taxes. I so dislike that. I've been neglecting the exercising because my body aches so. My butt muscles hurt so bad today, that I don't even want to sit. Don't know what's up with that? That sauce sounds really good. Puttanesca sauce, what is that? I just got a sauce from Netrition.com and it has 4g NC for 1/2 cup. I've not tried it yes, so I hope it is good. Hope you have a wonderful day.:)

Laurie, I think the Puttanesca is a type of sauce with more "stuff" in it, but I'm really just guessing here. The ingredients on the 2 jars are quite similar, including some anchovies and green olives (neither is an overwhelming taste in the sauce), so perhaps that's the key to Puttanesca. I'm pretty sure the Atkins book has some suggestions for making your own spaghetti sauce, but I'm just not into that. Four NC per half cup is absolutely acceptable, in my book, but if the store keeps stocking this one brand with 2, hey, all the better! And, yes, it's all the stuff for taxes plus filing away all this year's bills and statements, clearing up space for this year's, etc. I don't like it much either. Used to be a whole lot easier before we got older and had more things to keep track of! Enjoy your evening.
