Diario de debbra, 24 ene. 09

Journal covering the events of Friday, January 23, 2009: As I am now recording the events of the previous day, I will sadly relay that I went slightly over to the dark side last night. I say slightly because I indulged in a little sour dough, topped off with two chocolate coins left over from the holidays, and then a nice heaping squeeze out of the Hershey's chocolate syrup bottle, that I then endeavored to finish off with a spoon. Okay, with all the flourish aside, I overate! And this was after a huge salad that I thought had filled me, a small piece of steak, and a serving or two of carpaccio that my husband had made. I think I've listed all the offending articles, so no more shall be said on that account.

To my shock and dismay this morning, as I really didn't think it was so much food last night and I went to bed feeling relatively pleased with myself, I gained three pounds this morning on the scale, the most I have seen in a long time. I will not record it. I'm hoping the scale will change its mind before the day is over. And I will now begin my day, going straight to my treadmill, which will hopefully combat the terribly unfortunate event of this day's weighing.

It's so defeating how the scale berates us when we have a little extra (and it doesn't have to be much!). But the good news is that, if we get right back on track, it is usually a very fleeting reprimand and the numbers start to improve very fast. You are back on track. No worries!

Hmmm, did something you ate have a lot of salt? Could be the culprit. Drink lots of water and wash it away!

My body works this way too! Even if it is only a little bit of over eating I balloon up and gain a lot. I understand. You can do this you can work it off. We are here for you.

Hi Debbra - sounds like water weight to me. Keep chugging that water and I bet you see it go as fast as it appeared.
