Glad you saw a attorney. That is the best thing you can do to protect your assets. I'm sorry you have to go thru this. It can be quite a shock to some and they dont react quickly enough to protect themselves now and to plan for the future. You deserve better out of life than what he has done. Be strong and be adaptable.  

Dear Kim, Oh my goodness, I am so sorry he has treated you so badly. It is heartbreaking to have someone that you've been married to be so deceptive and treacherous. What a shock, you must be reeling. Since you mentioned you are living paycheck to paycheck, will you need to move to a smaller place to be able to handle the rent? Moving is a big job for anyone. So many women your age lose a husband to death, and it must almost seem like that to you. But the pain of rejection is on top of all that. It must be depressing to know that your standard of living is going down, possibly severely. To have to downsize must, by itself, be overwhelming. I see this makes all kinds of adjustments for you. That it happened so suddenly, makes it doubly hard. It's similar to someone, who's husband left for work one morning and never came back, either through death, incapacity, or them just disappearing. My heart goes out to you. Can you live temporarily with one of your grown children, even if you really don't want to? Of course, it is not ideal. Perhaps you will want to put some or most of your belongings in a storage facility temporarily till you can figure out what you will be able to afford on your salary. I am praying for you in this time of terrible adjustments. Hang on sweetie, so many people here care about you and are praying for you.

thank you all again! snowwhite, luckily my parents (rip), built the home i live in, and bcuz my brother is a smart man - "rented it to us" all these years, so i do have a roof over my head, maintaining it, i will learn to do 

Kenna, my youngest son (20) usually stays with his gf, but has his room here and comes over at least once a day. & my nephew (19) is staying with me currently due to his own situation. How did i get custody of my husbands, brothers kid in this divorce???? lol its all good, love him like my own.

Oh my goodness @Kim.Sager, this has been an intense week. I can't imagine the shock & surprise. I had similar thoughts as @bearnoggin. When we make major changes in our own lives, our Supports either support, fade away or bugger off. You are absolutely on the right path to good health. It is amazing how "like" attracts "like". I'm not necessarily talking about just attracting another person. Good support and realizations come in many forms. You've suddenly dropped dead weight. And I can't wait to see what opportunities come your way. In the meantime, life will be rough. Again, you're on the healthy path by reaching out to us and attorneys. Getting shit done like a boss.
