I try to hold to once a week (though I have cheat-weighed a few times). Agree with Aamaddux that you should focus on same time of day. First thing in the morning after urinating - workout (which usually loosens digestive system) - and defecation (if necessary). You're lightest first thing in the a.m. Think of your body as the connection of systems that it is and weight is relative to those systems.
