Good Evening, FS Warriors! It's been a beautiful, but busy weekend for me. Started with a 2 mile run at about 5:30 AM. Wore my new Nike+ GPS watch with the HR monitor strap and the shoe sensor. The HR feature froze 1/2 mile into the run and never recovered. The watch completely died yesterday afternoon, but I was able to revive it a few hours later by fooling with the USB plug. I sent Nike Support a message on Facebook and we have exchanged a number of comments. Tried it again this morning, and it did the same thing. I contacted Nike via phone and we reset the watch to factory conditions, and since tomorrow is a rest day, and I will be running Tuesday morning, we made an appointment to discuss my options on Wednesday about lunch time. After the run, I went to the Concealed Carry class for handguns about a 45 minute drive from home. Stopped in Menards afterwards and bought some free standing plastic shelving units. Mowed the church grounds. Did a little visiting with our friends, and went out to eat. I had one of those skillet breakfasts which included 3 eggs, hash browns, meat and cheese, and I didn't even want to know how many calories are in something like that.

Got up about 3 hours before church this morning and did my 4 mile recovery run. Took my Polar HR watch so I could still monitor my HR and keep it under 140 BPM for the entire run. Had to run at darn near a snail's pace to do it, but at least I completed the run - longest run yet this year. Legs were tired, but the run was good. The sun was shining and the weather was great for running. After church, we went out to eat again with our friends and I had a burger and fries at a nice restaurant we had heard a lot about. They had a terrific menu, but it was lunchtime, and I didn't feel like having anything exotic anyway. Came home and mowed the schoolyard.

Tomorrow is a rest day from running. It's tough to take a day off when you start getting into it, but it is a necessary part of training, if you really want to get better as quickly as you can, and without injuries. I'm really hoping Nike is able to resolve the issues with the watch; I like the watch, and I don't want to have to ship it back. Nike has wonderful support so far; I've dealt with them a couple times over my Sportband. I am not real optimistic that they can fix anything like this over the phone or internet, but it would be great if it does happen. We will see. I know it sounds like I am on some kind of unrestrained gluttonous adventure, but I really am trying to refrain from snacking, and when I do eat a large, and somewhat fattening meal, I try to restrict myself to two meals a day. Well, anyway, been a busy, but great weekend. Wishing you all a great evening. Toodles!
