God must think I am one strong SOB...
In December we buried my father on one of the coldest days this winter in Minnesota. Then in February my husband had two uncles die on the same day (one maternal uncle and one fraternal uncle). Now last week it was my Aunt (who was my last remaining Godparent). Last night got the call that my step mother was in the hospital and not doing well. Evidently they are going to put her on "comfort care" which is the new way to say that you are enforcing a do not resuscitate order with other conditions. We did this with my father and he passed away in less than two weeks. Now don't get me wrong...I still did not like this woman as my father's wife...but I don't want her to die either! She is nice as a person...just not as my step mom.
Oh the emotions...and the resulting lack of control.
This too will pass and I will get back on track. Otherwise I will be another of these statistics for the rest of my family.
