Diario de Doncocor, 24 nov. 21

Alright it's been a while since I wrote anything here.

So... 25 lbs to go and I reach my first goal. Doesn't sound like much but dang it if it didn't take a while to shake off these last few pounds. I have been struggling not with the food but with the exercise. It's colder out and I am NOT loving it. It's even cold inside.

It took me a month to go from 226 to 220. 6 pounds. UGH. Compared to my 10 pounds a month from previous months. It's been hard. Thing is. I don't want to keep increasing the amount of exercising I do. I don't want it to become the only thing I do.

Anyway. Here's to the last 25! (This is going to be extra hard since I love Christmas food!)

I’m in a similar situation. Have come a long way but not burning the calories like I used to now that I am less heavy. While last winter I had the drive to be out even in the snow walking I find it hard to get that same feeling now. I just joined a gym on the weekend so that I have somewhere warm to go and exercise so I don’t lose momentum. Been a few times already and liking it. I am excited to be able to keep moving. Good luck in those last 25lbs!

Buddy! I know you don't see it, but this post is an inspiration, guidance and an advance notice to guys like me! We all want the losses to happen quickly, and for those of us taking it seriously, we tend to get mentally used to loosing 10lbs or more per month... That said, those are also the "beginning months", and possibly for most of us now, the warmer/active months. So not only are we all headed into the less active months, but they're also filled with intermittent festive holidays! As was said earlier, your 6lb loss/month is nothing to sneeze at! That's still 1.5lbs/week(!), where not so long ago, guys like us were GAINING 1.5lbs/week! We're much smarter about our choices now. So celebrate your losses with the respect they deserve! Guys like me followed you in the first place cuz we're in the same boat weightwise & goalwise... I'm still rooting for you and cheering for that loss! Congrats! I know you won't give up! You’re doing very well! Keep going; you will get there, afterwards you will think,”That didn’t really take all that long.” It’s in the middle of the process that slower progress seems sooo discouraging. 🙂

6 lbs in a month is still considerable weight loss and worth celebrating over. Keep your workouts consistent and match them to your goal lifestyle… if you get into the habit of working out that is maintainable then you’ll be able to keep your routine long term. Definitely do not work out excessively!!! Once you stop your body will be accustomed to that energy expenditure and it’ll be harder to keep the weight off. (Been there done that) good for you with the 6 lbs!!! Keep it up and look at the long term. Good luck!
