Debbie, I was quite a big guy and started Spinning (biking)and lost weight fast and strengthened my knees doing it . This helped me move into a variety of additional exercises like running. Start low impact, Spinning, eliptical and even swimming. Don't be embarrased, people will look at you and admire your progress!!!
