Had to hit up multiple restaurants to put this one together. I've upped my Mexi-game with the real Coke (bottled in Mexico by folks who know what sugar tastes like) and a gigante wet burrito to support my pre-existing flan habit. A 2-1/2 hour workout this morning, some intermittent fasting, and now the payoff! 🤤

Nice! Everything looks delicious, but I would have added more beans and rice. Excellent that you found real Coke. Back in L.A., specifically in Highland Park, (where Joe grew up) is a store called Galco's. It started out as an Italian market/sandwich store decades ago. The grandson, I believe, turned it into what is now known as The Pop Shop. He carries hundreds of old fashioned soda pop. We bought a variety for our son's wedding some years back and everyone loved them. There really is such a difference in taste. 😋

I had extra frijoles y aroz, but I am on a diet, so I restrained myself. 2 flans made up for the lack 😜. And almost any tienda carries these nowadays. I remember Galco's - me and Chuy used to go there to get egg creams after school on Fridays.

I love flan ad have a great recipe for a coffee flan which I seldom make because it is about 700 calories for a small slice.
