Been waiting on my cleaning clone to arrive, but she's either late or MIA, so I guess I'll have to get the chores done - DARN!!

Major kitchen cleaning to do - won't go into all the greasy details....

When I was using the lawnmower yesterday, the starter cord pulled out and wouldn't retract. Turns out the spring inside is broken! Amazing because it's barely a year old and I'm not some behemoth that really yanks on the thing. I'll check on a warranty, but I don't expect it's covered. I'll be doing some parts shopping to see if I can replace just the portion that has that spring.

I don't know what it is, but I've had some pretty bad luck with lawn and garden items since we've moved here. I know I'll sound like an old coot-ette, but they sure don't make things like they used to!

Great, warm weather again today, but I got a late start so the doggies only got to go .8 miles. I "dropped them off at home" (that's for you, Squiggs!) and went out by myself, doing the lake route for about 3.3 miles. I really need to drive that route again to nail down the exact mileage. Based on time, I think it's correct, but I'd like to know for sure.

I'm still paying the price for my peanut butter indiscretions earlier in the week, with my weight in the 168's, nowhere near 167 and still a far cry from 166, my next pound down. It may seem like a partial pound here or there is nothing to worry about, and it's not, but I know that my own daily variation really isn't much. After all these months, I know that whatever I see on the scale in the AM is a pretty accurate reflection of my weight. After all this time, I know that I typically don't have multi-pound swings in weight.

Well, off to check again for that tardy clone and if she's not in sight, I'm off to face all that cleaning I abhor!!!! Hope everyone has a good (not rainy) weekend.

Sandy - Wow, another FS Member goes into hyper-cleaning mode! As for peanut butter - I had read on another site that since peanuts are not a "true nut" they don't have the weight loss benefits of the "Tree nuts". I haven't shopped yet but was thinking of looking into some of the other nut butters. Was wondering if you had tried them and what you thought.

Hi Sandy, my cleaning clone hasn't shown up yet either. I think they moved out of the country...Dang and I was so looking forward to not cooking or cleaning for a few days... Have a good one........Bren

Buffy, I believe that. I think peanuts are actually legumes, so perhaps I've been getting ahead of myself on the Carb Ladder. I haven't tried any of the other nut butters. I've been trying new seeds as I find them, but most are OK, not great, IMO. The salted roasted sunflower kernels, however, are a staple of mine. In fact, I was so hungry after walking today, I portioned out a serving to munch on while I fixed breakfast. I still have some left, so I can munch on them as I need to until that portion is gone.

Buffy, if you find a yummy other-butter, let me know.

Hmmm maybe I should kill off the peanut butter... I do like almond butter sometimes....

Sandy - LOL - I didn't get past the first sentence & LOL! Cleaning clone, I have always wanted one too! Still - LOL! One of the things I love most about FS is all of you! My worst working tool used to be the vaccuum cleaner, oh I just hate those things, but I fixed that problem by getting rid of ALL the carpet! Don't do too much cleaning, your clone will never show up!

If it's a briggs and stratton motor on that lawn mower you'll be better off looking up lawn mower repair on craigslist and paying someone. A pull cord is super easy to replace but the spring on B&S motors are insane.

Stryguy...thanks for the hint. Yes, it's a B&S engine and it's definitely a broken spring. I made poor DH fix a spring on my string trimmer last year and it about landed us on Divorce Court - LOL!! There's probably a tool to make coiling those things easier, but it's one of the few tools DH does not have.

So by now you are enjoying a nice clean house! Sorry 'bout the lawn mower, can't help you there. I do love almond and cashew butter and use them instead of peanut butter most times. Of course, both pretty high in fat, but I guess with Atkins, you are probably OK with that.

Thanks Babs & Squiggs, I guess Buffy and I will be trying some of those other butters. Fat on Atkins is not a problem, unless it's on me! LOL! A clean house??!! Maybe in my next life.... But the parts of the oven that don't get clean in the self-clean cycle are cleaned up and the stovetop with its maze-like grates are clean again, as well....oh, and so is the inside of the microwave. I think somebody's a messy cook!
