Google "why the scale lies". Our bodies are made up of 60% water, so many things can make our weight fluctuate. Exercise causes our muscles to retain water to help them heal, so you can see a temporary gain on the scale while your clothes get more loose. You are losing fat, but your muscles are retaining water so the scale is basically does not always tell the truth. I had a friend who didn't see the scale move for months and went down 4 sizes. Just keep going and it will even out. The scale will catch up eventually and you will be smaller and leaner. The retaining of fluid in you hands may be too much sodium like healthybabs said. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and flush out sodium.
