Sorry I missed your journal yesterday Buffy. I think the people who brand it as "unnatural" are the same kind of people that branded electricity as "trickery" many years ago. But you know the internet is like everything else in life, it can be used for good or it can be used for evil - I think it is amazing that like minded people can come together from all over the world and touch each others lives. I can quite honestly say that I don't know if I would have done so well this year without everyone's support and encouragement. FS embraces my life belief of paying back, if I encourage one person, they will encourage one, etc. etc. If I reach out and help, they will reach out and help and then one day when I need help the cycle will be back to me again and I will be helped......Have a lovely weekend Buffy :)  

Sometimes we can feel very alone in this process. But we aren't here to compare ourselves - but to help ourselves! You've helped me so much by just being a good friend. And I hope you know how deeply you are cared for here by everyone as well. Sure hope you have a great weekend too! Much Love. 

Buffy, traiby, jsfanthome and you have said it beautifully and I am not going to let "them" make me feel bad about something I do that enhances my life. You and my other buddies have really supported me and touched my life in a very positive way. F.S. the diary that opened up my world to buddies who give advice, support, love, kindness, hope and bring me so much joy. You know your are correct - pen pals have been in existence for many many years. In Victorian times penmanship and letter writing were considered evidence of class and breeding. Glad we are not in Victorian times as I can't read my own handwriting or spell :) I have to confess that nobody who knows me physically is aware that i have you guys. If i am asked, I do say I log my food but I don't tell anyone about the wonderful online community that I stumbled into. I am so thankful that you guys have accepted me as a friend and confidant. Even though you have access to the real me warts and all :) For me, this forum gives me the little angel on my shoulder to counteract the little devil on the other one. By that I mean, you all provide such positive feedback and encouragement to me that I know the seeds of doubt and self loathing that are sewn by the little devil on my shoulder can't grow. My expectation is that someday I will feel confident enough in myself to share the site and community with people that I know physically. I think that is something good that I can do for others. But for now, I have a wonderful secret :) 

Tracy -I hate to admit it but I am not sure how well I would have done without FS either! I now have the confidence to believe I can make this a life long commitment (with a little help from my friends)!  

Paula - With people like you I do not feel alone. You have a great weekend too! 

Lisa - Love your comment. By the way, who is "them" and why are they trying to dictate how we live? 

Bren - That is what real friends do - it is hard enough coping with life's problems without being judged on top of it. If any of us were perfect we wouldn't need to be here.  

Esimnons - I too am glad we have advanced beyond pen and paper! But the communication so vital to humanity lives on. But, I've got to tell you something - you are the only one here who sees the warts!  

LOL. Your too kind :) Sometimes I go through a day with nothing but warts in the brain .... Right now I am obsessing over the fellow next to mee that keeps speaking chinese! I like Chinese people but the language is so not pretty!!!! I am very irritated :) Gonna have to put in ear plugs and chill a bit before I scream! See - warts :)

Buffy,sorry I missed your post yesterday.I know I would never have come this far without my friends comments and encouragement. Heck lady,Thanks to you,You got me to head out shopping and I found the perfect dress for my daughters wedding yesterday.On sale...LOL nonna 

By all the posts here, very well said indeed! We are such a diverse group that have come together for a common goal - to lose weight. I had NO idea when I joined FS what I had really found. As I get through my daily business with all it's stressing over the this's & that's, I keep coming back here too, to all of you, for all of you.  

In a perfect world, we'd all know and support each other face-to-face, but such is not the case. We have a unique situation that few, if any, of our face-to-face acquaintances, family and friends share. Luckily, we have the internet, or we all would be struggling on our various paths without each other. In this case, the internet is a GOOD thing and I'm happy I'm here with a buddy like you!

Sexy - I'm so thrilled you found what you were looking for. You are the Mother of the Bride so you'll want to look your best. Besides, you'll have to see pictures of that dress for years to come. As for sundresses - there is still a big selection around here so I'm sure you'll find some cute ones. 

GG-Girl - Well said. I had no idea either - came so close to keeping everything private. I would have missed so much.  

Sandy - In a perfect world we wouldn't need FS! But since it is not, I consider myself lucky too. It is nice to know that I'm not the only one.
