Diario de auroraioanid, 26 mar. 15

43. (F7) I was very hungry for the past 2 days. My doctor put me on Remeron,as I complained I cannot fall sleep like I would like, and taking it just once gave me such terrible reactions: irritability, weakness and tired in the morning, AND it made me very hungry. It is incredible. The med is an anti-depressant, and I told the doc I was not depressed, but she insisted that there must be something subconscious that does not let me fall asleep...So here I am 3 days later, still feeling tired and groggy this morning, hopefully not that hungry today...Unless my body reacts to the extra fats (?)

It is amazing ...the power of a group, the power of common experience, and common sense, of collective wisdom and the deriving power of defense...I love you guys. And back with some Melatonin tonight. I will reporting on my sleeping for a few days until I gather courage to get on the scale :-) Tonight I paired two things that may not sound good together, but they are :-) : baked crunchy chicherones with pent butter. I know :-) it is so good! for a snack!

Lemon Balm in liquid form is amazing. Get it from health food store... go natural is always better than the doctors chemicals that cause so many other problems and make our bodies freak out. Our bodies were created for natural... Just my opinion.

It could be anxiety over depression, it could be racing thoughts indicating low-grade mania which an anti-depressant would make worse not better, it could be an issue REM, it could be a lot of things, and maybe a sleep study needs to be ordered before anti-depressants.

Yes....Lemon Balm is awesome for sleeping. It is a stress reliever and calms ..... it is great for other reasons but this one I am a witness to from my own use of it. I wish you well in finding what is just right for you...

By the way....this calming effect of Lemon Balm will NOT make you hungry in any way.... at least it doesn't for me.

I concur. Lemon balm (melissa officinalis) has been used for centuries for depression, anxiety and insomnia. The best use would be an infusion made of leaves - infusion means you pour the boiling water over the plant, cover and let steep for a while - in this particular case, due to the high volatile oils content, a 3 to 5 minutes of steeping would be perfect, not more as to not destroy the volatile oils. If you want to go herbal, you can actually mix lemon balm leaves with a pinch of anise seed (not more than a pinch) and some camomile. Drink a cup about 1 hr before bed time. A good place to buy organic herbs is Mountain Rose Herbs.

My Mother-in-law had the WORST EVER experience with that drug, I would stay away from it...good luck to you. Are you avoiding caffeine after 2pm? I must, otherwise i toss and turn till midnight! Hope you can find some quality sleep! :)

My dear friends, thank you all. Precious info. There is nothing like information coming from non-commercial sources :-) Lemon Balm, anise seed, and camomile. Interesting, Iulani, what did you mom experience? I would be curious to know, if you can share. Wishing all a great Friday. Doesn't Friday have a surge of energy, paradoxically so? Maybe it is just the promise of the coming of the week-end. :-)
