I am unhappy and frustrated with my recent weight gain. I have cut my calories down to 1200 to hopefully avoid more weight gain. I do not seem to be going number 2 either. My lower abdomen almost does not fit into my clothes and I hate it. I cannot seem able to stop it either, though. Hopefully, this works. If it does not I am going to be more unhappy that I have to buy bigger pants.

Ugh tell me about it, I’m usually always constipated and it sucks so I feel for you. Drink lots of water, walk and psyllium husk power in the morning with a bottle of water has been working for me but it took a couple weeks to do so. You got this!!

I had to do a cleanse called Yerba Prima for women. It is sold at natural grocers (no I am not affiliated with natural grocers) It is a total body reset that helps get your digestion system in balance. Gut health is important, so I did a search on all things good for my gut and have had great results. Diet change was important for me. I consume lots of fermented products and it has helped me as well. Do some research on gut health and figure out what will be good for You.

Walking will help with gas or bloating and get things moving again. Consider that you may be lactose intolerant now. Tell-tale sign is that bloating will occur within an hour of eating cheese/dairy/whey.

Oh I forgot! Also try drinking lemon water when you first wake up. It wakes up the digestive system.

After my surgery last year i was having issues with bowels also. I started drinking the moon juice brand of magnesium. One teaspoon at night in water (it comes in a powder). Side effect—-also helps with sleep but seems to do the trick if taken nightly. Also magnesium is necessary for body. I had to go under 800 calories for a few months because my metabolism is so slow, adrenals not functioning properly and missing a gene that helps with metabolism. Maybe get a thorough in depth blood panel see if something is going on there. IVE been able to up my calories to 1100 to 1200 for last few months and lose weight but sometimes there are metabolic issues at play you should get checked out. Best best wishes🥰

I've been doing the 5.2. Lost 20 pounds in two months.

How are your stress levels? What about your fiber intake? Although it seems counter intuitive, increasing your calories by a bit may help. Sometimes the calories are so low that the body hangs on to every single one because it’s not getting enough calories in to carry out its functions. You got this!

The 5.2, for me, is working. I eat 1200 calories on 3 days when I'm not fasting. If I lose a pound a week, I'm thrilled.

Stool softener, and an enema 1x a month. or Milk of magensia (but start slowlyyyyy) i could take probiotics and eat a container of fiber therapy, and it doesnt do anything for me.

I wouldn’t suggest going for such an extreme calorie deficit. When you eat at a high calorie deficit, you are much more likely to cave and go over your normal calorie count to maintain your weight. Usually a 300-500 calorie deficit is good for cutting weight. If you are trying to lose weight, go for a high protein, medium-high carb, and low fat intake.

Hey there, looking at your diet calendar, you're eating high carb, low fat (or, ordinary carb as per American standards.) Carbs attract water in your gut and if you don't get enough water it will slow them down immeasurably. I've been on keto the last little while and am starting to understand the whole 'full guts' issue from a new perspective. On keto the amount of fat you eat means you do not have any slowing down in the gut. It's a fast digestion, just like a carnivore's digestion. My suggestion if you don't want to cut carbs is to move to more 'above ground' carbs, greens, fruits, beans etc, and stop grains, seeds and sub-ground vege. Nuts are good, seeds are not... insane I know. Anyway, jmho. I am definitely not an expert in this as I am no longer eating much carbohydrate at all. But I have to say, on keto I have far less food in my gut, and no constipation whatsoever. I ate rice 2 weeks ago tho, and I think I pooed the last of it out this morning in my final 'whoosh' so.... tmi? I think so. :D Bless you whatever you decide to do.

Just fyi, guys, I have IBS-C and hypothyroidism, so that is why my diet is restricted. The doc put me on low fodmap for the IBS and I am gluten free and lacto-ovo vegetarian on top of this. But making low fodmap gluten free is not that hard; there are a couple of wheat and spelt products you have to eliminate, but not much else. I am trying to get my proportions to 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% fat. I have to drink prune juice daily for the IBS as per the doctor's orders, though, so that gives me a lot of carbs.
