Ughh... How can I work so hard with so little result?! What's you alls thoughts on Ozempic? I really wanted to do it the natural route, but I see all my coworkers with the weight just falling off bc of these meds. Eating bags of M&Ms and dropping 30 pounds. It's insane. I only have 6 pounds left to goal, but honestly I could lose 10 and be fine too. I'm a shorty so that's why my weight has to be low to achieve a normal BMI. Thoughts?

It’s a marathon not a race. The weight loss is suppose to slow down the closer you get to your target weight. You could try a diet break and eat at maintenance calories for a few weeks if you’re feeling overly restricted and unhappy. With Ozempic I’ve heard of suicidal ideation as a side effect- yikes, that’s a no go for me.

Cheesegobbler, definitely agree about the it being shady, that does bother me to. But dang it's so tempting watching other people lose so easily and eating whatever they want! They say that it makes them not even think about food. I cannot even imagine.

I will say… it does always kind of feel like that when you’re dieting, that everyone else gets to eat what they want 🥲 I do think it’s less of a spread than it seems like, or at least that’s what I tell myself… but this I know, impatience is the enemy!

I have diabetes and will be asking for ozempic when I go to the doctor. But I would rather do it naturally. I'm not sure about medicine.

my friend started taking that med recently, here is what she is dealing with, nausea, headaches, diarrhea and dizziness. She has an appointment with her doctor Monday to tell her it's not worth it she wants off of it. she's lost 20 pounds in 15 days but she's felt so bad she hasn't been eating right because of all of these things. Just be careful if anyone decides to do this. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone 😀

If possible I think any drug should be if all avenues have been exhausted first with diet and exercise but that is an individual choice. I will say the closer you get to a healthy weight it can be painstakingly slow. I am no expert but when I finally told myself this is a lifestyle change for the rest of my life PERIOD. I finally quit yo yo dieting and now have been maintaining. I found for me to lose the last 5 pounds that I follow a macros diet and watch my protein, fat and carbs and try to eat Whole Foods only.

Looks like it works well but when stopped the weight returns and it can be costly depending on insurance coverage. The drug stimulates a satiety hormone so one eats less.

Part of losing weight is developing healthy eating habits so that you can maintain your loss. Perhaps what you're doing now, even though it's taking longer than you'd like, is helping you learn how to do that. 💚

Dani, you CAN eat whatever you want to. It just has to be in the right portions to come in at or under your calorie goal. I eat candy, cookies, cake, ice cream....but, the biggest portion of my diet is healthy fruit, veggies & protein. The people around you that the weight is just "falling off"....do they have a lot to lose? The heavier you are, the more you lose in the beginning. Come up with a healthy plan of eating, get some exercise & stick with it. You'll achieve your goal....no drugs needed.

The side effects can be pretty brutal too.

I just got off of ozempic a it burns more muscle than fat. hence the rapid weight loss, as muscle weighs more than fat. I started eating in a caloric deficit w/ protein being the majority of my macros ad I am having much better results.
