As I've lost weight, the amount of insulin that I need has changed. I no longer take short acting insulin in the morning or at lunch. I still am required to take short acting insulin before dinner. That changed from 1 unit per 8 carbs, to 1 unit per 10 carbs. I still take 16 units of long acting insulin in the AM and the PM. BUT what a difference this weight loss has been for my A1C. My A1C went from 8.5 to 6.9.
