This time of year is hard with all the extra hunger and the snack cravings, and I've seen a few of us go up in our weight. Our bodies want us to store fat for the winter, as food used to become scarce. Our bodies and brains haven't caught up with our lifestyles and our ability to acquire food all year round. This makes winter a very challenging time of year diet-wise.
We can either accept that a gain will occur, loosen up on our diet and come back to it later, but this could mean gaining back what we've lost. Or we can budget for the occasional craving, adjust our diet and adapt, and find healthy alternatives to our craving foods.
There are other options as well, we know what's best for us.
The one thing I encourage all of us to do, is be kind and compassionate to ourseleves. Winter is hard, we might have setbacks, but its our biology working against us. We are *not* failures if we gain some back, or take a hibernation from dieting. 💚
