That sounds delicious! Nutritional yeast is amazing, so cheesy tasting.

Does TVP stand for textured vegetable protein? I’ve never had that, or heard of it until now.

Yep, that's what TVP stands for, StormsGirl. It's a soy product, super easy to use (just hydrate), low cal and high protein. Makes a good substitute for ground beef.

Morticia -- once you get hooked on nooch, it's pretty addictive stuff 😂

You should try it, morgan! It wasn't hard to make at all. I sauteed a little bit of shallot (you could use onion), carrot and celery while the broccoli steamed. Chopped the broccoli, added enough broth to cover it + 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast and simmered a few minutes. Added a half cup of cashew cream and some prepared TVP. That was it!

YOH -- maybe that could be my side gig in retirement. 😉 I've actually thought it would be fun to start a YouTube cooking channel. I'm curious -- do you just not like to cook?

MyanW -- I've actually been ordering mine off Amazon, although I can get it locally from Natural Grocers. I'm not sure which aisle it would be in. It's not something you'd be likely to find in a regular grocery. I've tried both Anthony's and Bob's Red Mill, and I prefer the Bob's. I think it's texture is better, closer to ground beef

I was just looking at Anthony’s on Amazon I buy him and bob’s. I was thinking it might be like Morning Star farms, I use that. Thank you never heard of called that before.

YOH - for me, cooking is one of the most peaceful activities I engage in, so not liking to do it is a foreign concept to me 🤔 It's almost meditative to me. I feel free and creative in a way no other activity makes me feel. It probably helps that I take my time and don't stress about it. It'll get done when it gets done, and it'll turn out however. Doesn't have to be perfect. I think it goes back to childhood. I had a fraught relationship with my mother, but the best times I had with her were in the kitchen. She always made me welcome there and put me to work. Cooking became just a natural part of life. My fondest memory of childhood is snapping beans for Mom to put in the freezer. We had a huge garden, and Dad would bring them in in 5-gallon drywall buckets

Writingwyo-when i was a kid we had a huge garden. We were very poor tho we owned a house and a truck. The garden was how we fed ourselves with one beef a year. I have not fond memories of hours and hours and hours of weeding, shelling peas, hacking corn, snapping beans picking strawberries for my mom to can and make jams etc with for the winter. Appreciated the food in the winter (and the summer) but didnt enjoy all the work to can and freeze and weed and water😂

Funny, YOH, how the same type of experience can leave different memories. We didn't have a rototiller, so it was our job to work up the soil each spring. Our garden was half the size of a city lot (we had a double lot), so it was quite the task. I absolutely loved it, and looked forward to it each spring. My brother told me a few years ago that he hated it 😂 Meanwhile, school was torture for me. Too much sitting still, I think, and being told what to do and when. To this day, I'm bewildered by the concept of children who love going to school.🤔 I was a voracious reader, and love to learn, but hated school. I've known for a long time that I really need physical work to stay sane. I wanted some kind of physical work, but life led me to desk jobs
