Fell once, on purpose, because I was at high risk of hitting a tree NOT on purpose 🤣 

Good job! 

My very first time skiing I sat down on purpose because I was afraid I would plow down all the innocent people at the bottom of the hill. My instructor did not mention the part about how I would gain a lot of speed if I kept my skis pointed straight the whole way (and no tips on how to stop from a standing position)🤣. Keep the adventurous photos coming, @Wyo!💚 

I used to ski but after a accident involving a tree in Mammoth, Ca I gave it up…looking at your pictures make me want to try it again! 

Thanks, Morticia! 😃 JB - a wise choice on your part. Any time you can do a semi-controlled bailout rather than hitting something or someone, you're better off. Sounds like a poor instructor. The very FIRST thing they should have taught you was how to stop! 😱 

Diana...YEESH! My husband taught me early on that trees always win, but I've never gone toe to toe with one in the ring to find out. I totally get why that might put you off of it. I've been pretty skittish about cycling ever since my epic tunnel crash that injured my rotator cuff. (Totally healed now, but it took months.) You might find cross country a little more mellow, especially if you stick to the easier terrain. If you try it, you might try starting with classic kick and glide, and getting a little sturdier boot and skis with metal edges. A lot of cross country skis don't have them, but I feel like they give me better control. It's a lot cheaper than downhill skiing, too!
