Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success. ~ Dale Carnegie
Energy and persistence conquer all things. ~ Benjamin Franklin
I had a work session last night with my massage therapist and I'm still sore. Everything is still swollen and I refuse to register officially the 195.0 I saw on my scale this morning since I know my body is just holding onto water to recuperate from my "mechanic" session. Necessary, but wasn't fun. I got my feet worked on as a "good-girl" prize for going through it and not hitting her lol. I'll feel better tomorrow. Ibuprofen and lots of water today will help.
So since I know the raise on the scale isn't something I did "wrong" and that what I'm doing is working, I will be persistent. The scale will reflect it in the next day or so and we do not live by the number on the scale, although sometimes it feels like we do.
Press forward, make a positive change today. If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.
Have a good day buddies.

You might consider using a pain reliever that isn't an NSAID and let body take care of the swelling naturally. The are some sports doctors saying anti-inflammatory drugs actually hinder the bodies normal healing mechanisms.

Non-nsaids don't work well on me (never have) so I tend toward anti-inflammatories but I don't use them often. Usually just enough to kick whatever it is over the hump. Didn't actually use anything today, just drowning it in hydration lol.

NSAIDs really work well for me when treating swelling from strains, fractures, stress, or headaches. Naproxin is best for injuries such fractures and strains. Ibuprophen works best for muscle stress or headaches. As with everything I say, this is my opinion.

I completely agree in regards to injuries, strains, fractures, etc. and headaches. I used to be an ibuprofen and ice bath proponent/fanatic with regards to recovery but my experiences and reading have changed my opinion recently. Everything I suggest here is only my opinion and always said with a ;) and a :).

Ouch - if your massage therapist did deep tissue, and you are that sore, I might be concerned they are not doing it correctly. Rolfers are specifically trained.
