So a funny thing was going on with me tonight while I was out walking. About halfway through it started feeling like blood was pooling in my hands and fingers. With every swing of my arms my skin on said areas felt tight and swolen like they could burst if I happened to whack them on something or I made too tight of a fist. I did not enjoy it! Lol
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like that before?

This has happened to me since I was quite young -- especially in high humidity, so I've always assumed that it had something to do with the way my body handles water when I exercise.

My fingers swell a bit when I run or walk real fast - I take the wedding ring off because of this. You are definitely elevating the heart rate, blood is pumping into your veins faster than the body is used to. It's a good thing, but you do need to be careful. Heart rate should be 60 - 80% of your max. I don't know if this is still valid, but to calculate max heart rate start with 220 - age. For me, 220 - 56 = 164, times .80 = 131. Take your pulse for 6 seconds & multiply by 10 to get your current heart rate. Of course, as you get conditioned you can exert yourself more before hitting that number. Good luck & keep pushing!

I pick a stick(I'm usually walking sidewalks at a park) and hold it switching hands now and then. Or my keys....whatever is easy and this does the trick for me.

Hey Christine, you're young, wait til you get older, you won't be able to list the strange feelings you get. It was funny, yesterday I'm with my golf buddy, and I start guzzling Coors Light. You might think, oh well. It made me so tired and pathetic the rest of the day. Then its a trip when my wife gets with her brother's family, sometimes its like I don't even know her. She tells me to "shut up" whenever I talk about something nutty she did. D-it, already its your brother!
