Day 54 or 60.

I've been away from this journal for a whole week. My struggles have continued and the past two weeks I've been losing weight in reverse. A couple days ago it dawned on me that I tend to overeat when under stress, and for the past several weeks I've been dealing with a buttload of stress. Now I could have taken that insight and adjusted my behavior. Instead, I immediately used it as an excuse to go completely off the rails; fortunately, only for one day. On Saturday, I decided I really need to get back on track, so I went back to basics and aimed at eating 1200 calories a day over the weekend. I also made a point of getting back to the gym. I'm feeling much better about myself right now. This stressful situation I've been dealing with has begun to ease and should be resolved in another week or two.

It's funny how it's actually easier to stick to 1200 calories a day, than 1900. I think it is that at 1200 calories, you know you're going to be hungry and you just accept it. At 1900 calories a day, I was eating whenever I felt the slightest bit of hunger, even if that meant going over my target.

Anyway, I'm two days back on track and hope to continue, Halloween parties or not.

Hope all the stress calms down for you..I have found if I fix celery and have it ready for the munchy stress times it really helps..also I put just enough peanut butter on it to taste...Yummy...but you may not like celery..glad your back on track again...have a great day...

BHA, thanks for the note. They sell little 100 gram bags of baby carrots at the local supermarket, so I've bought about 10 bags that I keep at home and at work. They are the perfect snack for me -- crunchy, tasty and relatively filling, all for 35 calories. I do like celery, but it doesn't take the edge off my hunger like the carrots.
