Joanna, So many of us share similar circumstances. I am single and was my mom's caregiver for 2 years. She had a sizeable brain tumour and left this world last year. What little family I have left, have abandoned me over money issues. Love yourself and be brave. You can accomplish everything you want to! <3

Prayers to you! I took care of my grandmother, mother, and father while raising my kids. I was left the house that I paid for when they could not. My siblings wont talk to me since I have the house. At first it hurt but then I realized - I did the most selfless thing I could do and I gave up 8 years of my life making sure each of them passed peacefully and with diginity - with a roof over their head and yummies in their tummy. Life goes on....

It happens more often than we care to talk about. You did the right thing taking care of parents is tough. They are not ready to see all the good you did maybe never will... Be strong we are here for you..........

My warmest condolences to you. I lost my mother awhile back to cervical cancer and remember my family going absolutely nuts. Death is hard to take and the mother is usually the one who holds us all together. I think time softens all of us left behind.

Yes, it is a heartbreaker.... I and my almost 90 yr. old parents have gone thru similar circumstances from my siblings. Fortunately, two of them have finally risen above the issue. But the other has written our folks off -- Greed and pride are at the root of it.

Inheritance often pulls a family apart. It happened to me too; so sad. Your mom did what she wanted and thought was right, so they'll eventually have to live with that ..... or not. Yo've got to move on. Take care, and welcome here.

So sorry for your loss. It is tough being a caretaker for a parent. Underrated and under appreciated. It will either bring a family together or tear it apart and I'm sorry it went the way it did for you. It's time to take care of yourself and deal with your grief in a healthy way. I wish you luck! This is a very supportive place - use it!

Sorry for your loss. Losing a Mom is tough, You can lose those pounds and find a job also. Your family will probably come around, but if they don't good friends are like family. Just try to keep lines of communication open, but don't allow family to bring you down. You have got this!

I can so relate to you...I stayed with my sister for over a year as she fought her battle with stage 4 small cell lung cancer. I had put on 50...yes 50 lbs by the time she lost her battle and I have since lost my mom...we are the last person we take care of in those situations. Take care of yourself first Jojo let the rest go and move on...its your turn.
