Well, I have a new hurdle to overcome now. I've noticed that my hunger signals are suddenly really different this month. Different as in nit working at all like they have been for over 6 months on Keto and over 45 pounds of weight loss. Then it dawned on me that it coincides exactly with my taking a potent dose of antibiotics for a very sudden dental infection at the beginning of May. I hadn't taken antibiotics for years and years.

So I did some research and sure enough what I am experiencing is well documented. I couldn't figure out why I was having the sudden increase in appetite and sudden desire to overeat daily even though I was eating plenty of fat. One night I was so annoyed by my grumbly stomach, I sat down and ate 2 ounces of straight Mascarpone with a little stevia to shut it down. But the next day the problem returned: issues with my stomach feeling something was lacking every few hours.

Fast forward to yesterday. I am now focused in trying to build up the good bugs in my belly because its highly likely my new stomach rumblings are happening because all my gut bacteria got wiped out with the antibiotics. Yesterday I not only bought shots of refrigerated probiotics, I also got all kinds of refrigerated Prebiotic things to help the probiotics get fed, colonize etc. For the first time I am eating raw, probiotic locally made pickles and saurkraut. I am letting myself havec 1/5 of a greenish banana and 1/4 of a Quest bar because those both have the kind of fiber the probiotics need to flourish. I am upping my onion intake daily for the same reasons. I am going to try my best to stay Keto but allow myself up to 35 net carbs because it seems all the important foods to rebuild gut health are carby. Hopefully this will work and that beautiful satisfied feeling of being in ketosis will return soon. Today I drank 1/2 teaspoon of psyllium husk powder dissolved in 16 ounces of water for satiety, twice. I really want to feel like I have for the previous 6 months!
