So, I started off this diet on February 1st. I started with Atkins because my mom has lost over 100 lbs on it and has kept it off. I thought this would be a great way to get the weight off fast and then I could switch to a healthy diet that I could maintain the rest of my life. Well, the first week I lost 6 lbs. The next week I gained a lb. and the week after that lost.5 lb. I was EXTREMELY frustrated by that. But...I kept reminding myself that I never did ANY exercise before and now I was walking 1.5 miles/day and using a light calisthenic video for 20 minutes. I know I have been gaining muscle as well as losing fat. I lost 2 1/2 inches in my waistline that first month. Still...I wasn't seeing results on the scale!! I looked into the diet. I realized that I was consuming too many carbs and I wasn't working the Atkins diet 100% correctly. So, for the next week I fine tuned that. When I got on the scale last Friday, I had lost .6 of a lb. I was FED UP!!! After a few hours of sobbing, I decided that I couldn't give up, but once again, I was going to have to tweak the diet. I had my gall bladder taken out a year ago and was wondering if that was part of the reason that I wasn't losing weight. So, I figured that I would try a diet that was very low in fat, calories, AND carbohydrates!! I started this change on Saturday, March 6th. For S&G's, I stepped on the scale this morning (usually only do it once a week) and found that I had lost 6 LBS!!!! FINALLY!! So, I have been reading up on Very Low Calorie Diets, and I know that I can't do it forever. I am going to give it about 4 months and I'll see where I'm at from there. I am just relieved that I CAN lose the weight and now I'm even more motivated to do it!!

Wow!! Good for you for keeping on and not giving up and the exercise is great!! I have my weeks I am really good with working out and others I can't seem to get much of any done! Just be careful b/c on Atkins it's about watching the carbs and sugar but not so much on the fat and calories.. you need some fat to help you stay full longer and keep from snacking. But like I said GREAT JOB!!! keep it up!
