Day #6 of no sweeteners. DH has added them back and lost 3 pounds today....MEN!

1.8 miles walked today. Cloudy but 75 degrees! Hope to get back in the pool one last day before a front comes through with lowered temps.

The books I ordered came yesterday and, while the Phinney & Volek one is geared toward health professionals, I "think" there's an interesting tidbit near the end. I want to go back and give it another read before I journal it, as I was only skimming sections last night. But I think it'll give me next week's tweak, as the "no sweeteners" tweak will be history!!!!

There will be no pancakes for me tomorrow - sadly - because I'll be on the last day of no sweeteners and the syrup has them. AND pancakes without syrup are just not pancakes! LOL! However, I hope to pick up some more blueberries at the store on Sunday and then will have pancakes on Monday when DH is off and can enjoy them too.

MEN...enough said about that, but really THREE POUNDS, just jealous is what I am! We are both missing our pancakes...funny you should mention them, as I was just trying to dream up a blueberry pancake muffin recipe.

Yes, GG, that 3 pounds ticked me off too. No matter that he had gained a couple earlier in the week.... Have you tried just putting blueberries in a MIM recipe?

MEN indeed!! My hubby can drop 10 pounds in a month just by giving up his Coke. <grumble> I can vouch for the blueberry MIM, yummmm! I like to substitute almond meal for the flax, here's what I do: 1/4 cup almond meal, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon. In a large mug, stir together dry ingredients then add 1 beaten egg, 2 or 3 drops of liquid Splenda (I use EZ Sweetz, 1 drop = 1 tsp), 1 tbsp half & half cream and 8 - 10 blueberries. Microwave for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes, depending on your microwave's power. Slice, and eat with butter or cream cheese ... mmmmm! I've been thinking about buying the DaVinci sugar-free blueberry syrup to try in my MIM's. I already use the pineapple one to make a "Pina Colada" MIM, I also add 2 tsp. unsweetened shredded coconut. It's delicious too! : )

Men, I hear ya on that one. I love pancakes with just butter and a sausage link rolled up in the middle! Pigs in a blanket! MMMMM...I haven't had a pancake in over 2 years! lol May have to try to make some soon. Hope you can get that swim in..the cold front is here and it is only 48 degrees at 2:30 in the afternoon, after a high of 75 yesterday. It is crazy! Have a wonderful rest of your day!!

Carol, that sub of almond meal for flax might be just the ticket! I'll have to look for those other flavors of DaVinci, esp. the pineapple one, as I've already got some unsweetened coconut on hand that I've been wanting to use. Thanks for the tips.

Stef, I will definitely be swimming, as the pool's up to nearly 83 degrees before I put the heater on it (we've lucked out in that it's keeping a good amount of its heat overnight, even without any type of cover). Congrat's on losing that pound! These scales are downright ornery these days....glad someone's is finally moving!

Good for you sticking to your guns - sorry you'll miss your weekly treat. But you've got me drooling at the mention of blueberries - bet they'd be good with some unsweetened whipped cream on top!

Oh you would mention that whipped cream!!!! They're actually good with regular (liquid) cream and a hint of Splenda on them too! But, of course, the Splenda's off-limits until Sunday.....Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY!!!!!

I am loving the sugar free davinci syrups...I splurged & got several different ones & have been having some really good MIM's lately! Tomorrow I want to try to make a blueberry "pancake" MIM, basically a Maple flavored almond flour MIM w/blueberries tossed in & topped with powdered sugar (erythritol ?spelling?) made into a drizzle glaze...or whipped cream?

Men have no idea how hard it is for us to just lose even 1/4 of a pound..Only one more day for you kiddo..congrats your my hero...have a great weekend...:O)
